Made it.

So we finally made it out to Jackson around 8:45 or so this evening local time.  What a trip, it took about 38 or so hours to drive out here from central PA with maybe only about 4 hours total of stopped time.

So this is how the trip went...

Friday morning we woke up to find about 3 inches of fresh snow on the ground, something that we were not expecting.  Luckily the snow did not affect the start of the trip.  On our way out of PA we stopped briefly in State College, but before that we were stuck on Rt 322 for a period of time because a car had caught fire along the highway, we hoped this wasn't a sign of the journey to come.  Once we made our quick stop in State College we headed to Rt 80 west and set the cruise control and prepared for the long journey ahead.  So Zack took the first two tanks of gas, about 12-13 hours straight.  Along the way we hit some pretty bad snow storms going through Indiana but pushed through to south of Chicago were we stopped, got some more gas and ate some "gourmet" dinner.  When I say "gourmet" I mean we stopped in a parking lot, dropped the tailgate, pulled out the camp stove, and made some instant mashed potatoes with peas (which is fun to cook by the way in about 18 degree weather).  So after dinner, which actually hit-the-spot quite well, I took over the driving for the night shift. The night drive was pretty undramatic, downed some energy drink and pushed through the first tank of gas.  During the next stint of driving I had to pull off a bit and grab some shut eye, then hit the road again.  As the sun was about to come back up we stopped in Nebraska to fill the truck up and grab some truck stop breakfast food.  After the pit stop, I passed the hell out and Zack pushed through to Cheyenne Wyoming we were stopped for a bit to stretch the legs and grab another "gourmet" meal/lunch, which was mac and cheese.  After that we continued through Wyoming stopping again later for gas and pushed through to our final destination of Jackson.

So here we are, about to call it a night, and then start planning the rest of the adventure tomorrow.
